Do I need a visa to visit Argentina?

The requirement depends on your nationality and travel purpose. 
Argentina provides different types of visas based on nationality and travel purpose.
Here's what you need to know:
- Electronic visas are available for citizens of 71 countries
- Visa-free entry is possible for approximately 90 countries
- MERCOSUR agreement members can enter with just their ID cards (Brasil, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Perú, Venezuela, Ecuador y Colombia)

Business Visa

Applications may be submitted to any Consular Office of the Argentine Republic. The authorized stay period for this type of visas is a maximum of 60 (sixty) days. Applications are personal and the applicant must submit the following documents (an original and a copy) at the Consular Office.

Visa to attend congresses and fairs, or to carry out technical, scientific, artistic or professional activities

Applications for a visa to attend congresses and fairs or to carry out technical, scientific, artistic or professional activities can be made at any Consular Office of the Argentine Republic. The authorized stay period for this type of visa is a maximum of 30 (thirty) days.

Tourist Visa

The National Direction of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones -DNM). Migrations registers the entry and exit of people to the country, exercises the immigration police power, and decides on the admission of people to the national territory. It works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is present throughout the territory.

THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION

  • Passport valid for at least six (6) months at the time of entering Argentina, with at least two (2) blank pages
  • Two (2) current 4 x 4 cm photographs, facing the camera, printed in colour, on a white background

  • Visa application form filled out (preferably in electronic format) and signed by the applicant

  • Letter of invitation from the inviting party in the Argentine Republic

  • Proof of comercial/work activity in the place of residence (for example, letter issued by the employer)

  • Round trip reservation (Recommendation: do not purchase tickets before obtaining the visa)
  • Hotel reservation or proof of accommodation in the Argentine Republic

  • Payment of consular fee: 200 US dollars or euros, depending on the Consular Office where the application is filed. The fee must be paid in the local currency of the Representation

  • Consular interview

Please note that Consular authorities may require supplementary or additional documents where deemed necessary.

DENIAL OF ENTRY

The competent authorities will deny entry to nationals of third States who do not meet the entry requirements or who are subject to an entry ban.

You will be denied entry if you are deemed to pose a danger to public order, the internal or external security of the State, or public health.​
