2. Purpose of the Grant

HTAi Participation Grants aim to enable individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend the Annual Meeting to join the global HTA dialogue, share their work, and enhance their contributions to the field

The networks formed are invaluable along with the concentrated learning that is acquired in the Workshops, Panels, Plenaries and Interest Group Meetings. I am looking at a small research project that I hope will include 2 new friends I met at event. This could not have happened without attending the Annual Meeting.

3. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following primary criteria: 
  • Reside in a low- or middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank)
  • Be a patient or caregiver affiliated with a not-for-profit patient network
  • Be a full-time student enrolled in an HTA-related post-secondary program

And one of the following secondary criteria:

  • Be a presenter or panelist of an abstract submission (Oral, Poster, Panel or Workshop)
  • Have a current link to an HTA agency, academic institution, or relevant health sector
  • Show intent to engage in HTA, with a supporting letter

4. What the Grant Covers
Maximum grant value: USD $2,200 which may reimburse:
  • Economy-class direct travel (including up to 1 night before and 1 night after the meeting)
  • Accommodation for the duration of the Annual Meeting (standard stay = 3 nights)
  • Transportation to and from airport/train station
  • Annual Meeting registration at the early-bird rate
Does not cover:
  • HTAi membership fees
  • Travel insurance 
  • Per diems or meals
  • Incidentals (e.g., tips, local transport, personal costs)
All payments are made as reimbursements after the Annual Meeting and only for eligible expenses supported by valid receipts.
5. How to Apply
All applications must be submitted via the online application platform and include the following:
  • Personal and organizational details
  • Confirmation letter (if patient/caregiver) or nerolement certificate (if student)
  • A statement outlining your motivation and anticipated impact
  • Estimated budget (travel, accommodation, registration)

6. Application Review
Applications are assessed based on:
  • Eligibility
  • Relevance to HTA
  • Contribution to HTAi mission
  • Past participation or funding history
  • Geographic and gender diversity (in case of tied scores)
All decisions by the HTAi Annual Meeting Committee are final.
7. If You're Successful
You must:
  • Confirm your acceptance by Feb 10, 2026
  • Register for the meeting by March 26, 2026
  • Submit your expense report and receipts, wire transfer form and post-meeting report within 30 days after the Annual Meeting
Funds are reimbursed after the meeting and will not be paid in advance.
Post meeting requirements
Successful applications are required to submit
  1. Expense report with valid receipts
  2. Meeting Attendance Report (including reflections and key takeaways)
