Did you Know? Getting around Istanbul

Istanbul is home to the Tünel, the world’s second-oldest underground metro system, which opened just 12 years after the London Underground. It was part of the city’s early transport network alongside ferries and trams.

Today, getting around the city is both practical and more sustainable when using public transportation, helping reduce congestion and emissions in a city where traffic is often heavy. Istanbul’s extensive network of trams, metros, buses, and ferries makes it one of the most convenient ways to travel across the city’s busy streets and waterways.
