2021 VIRTUAL Annual Meeting Social Events

Social events are an important part of HTAi Annual Meetings, giving attendees the chance to catch up with old friends and colleagues, let off some steam and make new connections. Though we have been unable to host the meeting in Manchester, we hope to bring a flavor of the city and the UK to the social program.

Welcome Reception -  June 20, 2021

Join us at the Welcome Reception on Sunday 20 June for some fantastic entertainment, fun and family friendly activities, and the opportunity to network according to your areas of interest and expertise.

Beginning with opening remarks from Professor the Lord Darzi of Denham, Co-Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London, we’ll have entertainment from each of the host nations and we’re pleased to announce that the multi award-winning Ayoub Sisters will be performing exclusively for HTAi 2021!

We’ll also have performances from the Manchester based, Northern Chamber Orchestra’s wind quintet and further artists will be confirmed in the lead up to the meeting

We’ll also have some interactive activities which we hope delegates and their families can enjoy together:

  • We have a 'magician masterclass' with Duncan William, whose show mixes magic and mind reading and may even let you in on the secret behind a simple magic trick!
  • Creative Wellness will be running an accessible yoga session focused on mindfulness and wellbeing
  • For those looking to make new connections we have a speed dating session which will allow you to meet other delegates

Catch Up and Connect -  June 22, 2021

On Tuesday 22 June Catch Up and Connect will give attendees the chance to take part in a fun virtual cocktail making class before breaking into groups to network and catch up with colleagues old and new.

The experts at Mixology Events will outline some core mixology techniques, before leading you through two cocktail creations (a non-alcohol option for both cocktails is available), giving and receiving feedback as they go. Mixology Events are part of TT Liquor, a specialist liquor store based in Shoreditch, London selling a handpicked selection of fine liquors, beverages and specialist equipment. Delegates can either source their own ingredients using the shopping list below or order a kit* including all of the ingredients and tools required.

Scottish Ballet and Creative Wellness at HTAi 2021

Within the main meeting program we have incorporated various breaks for networking and time away from screens. We have daily yoga sessions from Creative Wellness and videos from the Scottish Ballet ‘Health at Hand’ initiative.

Creative Wellness will encourage you to move away from your desk to stretch and focus on mindfulness and wellbeing. Scottish Ballet have created a package of movement exercises for NHS and Social Care staff and have allowed us to include a series of their videos within the HTAi 2021 meeting program. Over the course of the meeting we will follow their program of exercise and movement to ‘Energise, Rejuvenate and Relax’.
