WHAT YOU NEED FOR ENTRY INTO ARGENTINA

Do I need a visa to visit Argentina?

The requirement depends on your nationality and travel purpose. 
Argentina provides different types of visas based on nationality and travel purpose.
Here's what you need to know:
- Electronic visas are available for citizens of 71 countries
- Visa-free entry is possible for approximately 90 countries
- MERCOSUR agreement members can enter with just their ID cards (Brasil, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Perú, Venezuela, Ecuador y Colombia)

Business Visa

Applications may be submitted to any Consular Office of the Argentine Republic. The authorized stay period for this type of visas is a maximum of 60 (sixty) days. Applications are personal and the applicant must submit the following documents (an original and a copy) at the Consular Office.

Visa to attend congresses and fairs, or to carry out technical, scientific, artistic or professional activities

Applications for a visa to attend congresses and fairs or to carry out technical, scientific, artistic or professional activities can be made at any Consular Office of the Argentine Republic. The authorized stay period for this type of visa is a maximum of 30 (thirty) days.

Tourist Visa

The National Direction of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones -DNM). Migrations registers the entry and exit of people to the country, exercises the immigration police power, and decides on the admission of people to the national territory. It works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is present throughout the territory.

THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION

  • Valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of entry into the country, and at least one blank page (two sides) available, or any valid and current document listed in Annex I of the AGREEMENT ON TRAVEL AND RETURN DOCUMENTS OF MERCOSUR AND ASSOCIATED STATES (DC-46-2015-CMC).
  • Two (2) current photographs of 4×4 cm, front-facing, in color, with a white background.
  • Completed visa application form (FSV) (preferably in electronic form) and signed by the applicant. You can download the form at: https://cancilleria.gob.ar/es/servicios/visas/visa-para-congresos-actividades-tecnicas-cientificas-artisticas-o-profesionales
  • Invitation letter prepared by the inviter, properly registered in the National Unique Registry of Foreigners (RENURE). The letter must include the foreigner’s personal details, the activity to be carried out in the country, and the length of stay in the Republic. This invitation letter must be certified and legalized by an Argentinian Public Notary. Delegates can obtain this invitation letter by contacting us at annualmeeting@htai.org . The invitation letter costs 65 USD. Some countries require the shipment of the physical document through FedEx. An additional cost for the shipment will apply. Please verify with your Consular Office if they need a physical copy. After the letter is certified and legalized, the inviter will upload the digital version to the embassy internal system (TAD) so the applicant can schedule the interview. Please consider that this process do not guarantee the approval of the VISA.
  • Proof of employment or business activity in the country of origin (e.g., employment certificate with company letterhead).
  • Round-trip flight reservation (it is recommended not to purchase tickets until the visa is granted).
  • Hotel reservation or proof of accommodation in the Republic of Argentina.
  • Payment of consular fee: 200 US dollars or euros, depending on the Consular Office where the application is filed. The fee must be paid in the local currency of the Representation
  • Consular interview.

Important: The above list is not exhaustive, and the consular authority may request supplementary or additional documentation as deemed necessary.

To begin the visa application procedure, please contact the relevant Consular Office in order to make an appointment and submit the required documents.

DENIAL OF ENTRY

The competent authorities will deny entry to nationals of third States who do not meet the entry requirements or who are subject to an entry ban.

You will be denied entry if you are deemed to pose a danger to public order, the internal or external security of the State, or public health.​
