We’re excited to welcome you to the HTAi 2025 Annual Meeting! Each week leading up to the event, we’ll be sharing key information to help you prepare, maximize your experience, and stay up to date on program highlights and important announcements. Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a seasoned HTAi participant, these updates will help you get the most out of your time in Buenos Aires.
The HTAi 2025 Annual Meeting Program includes two days of pre-conference Workshops. Led by senior experts and HTA leaders, these Workshops are designed to share innovative experiences and practices, and to provide learning opportunities for participants.
Below are some Workshops opportunities we would like to highlight for you. Registration is open for each of these Workshops, which can either be included as part of the Annual Meeting registration or attended separately. Please note, Workshops are available for in-person attendees, only.
WS01 - Building Evidence For The Evaluation Of Digital Health Technologies
Date & Time: Saturday, June 14 | 9.00AM to 12.30PM
Presenters: Dario Sacchini, Americo Cicchetti, Wija Oortwijn, Rossella Di Bidino, Carl V. Asche, Valentina Strammiello, Rossana Rivas Tarazona
Summary: Digital health technologies (DHTs) have the potential to transform healthcare delivery. However, generating robust evidence on the value of DHTs is a challenge. This workshop provides guidelines, tools, and methodologies for conducting health technology assessments (HTAs), and for reporting on economic evaluations of DHTs, aiming to enhance learning on data collection and analysis for informed decision-making.
WS02 - Doing What’s Right: Integrating Ethics Analysis In HTA?
Date & Time: Saturday, June 14 | 13.30AM to 17.00PM
Presenters: Bart Bloemen, Pietro Refolo, Lars Sandman, Michal Stanak
Summary: The relevance of incorporating ethical analysis into HTA is increasingly acknowledged because many health technologies raise ethical, legal and social issues, and because HTA is an ‘evaluative process’ aimed at informing decision-makers about the value of health technology. This workshop offers an introduction to the role of ethics in HTA, as well as interactive discussion of challenging case studies.
WS03 - Institutionalization Of HTA In Lower Middle-Income Countries: Progress To Universal Health Coverage, Methodologies, Challenges, Lessons
Date & Time: Saturday, June 14 | 9.00AM to 12.30PM
Presenters: Yanga Nokhepheyi, Eleanor Grieve, Marilia Cardoso, Anthony Kamau, Lucky Ngwira, Amani Mori
Summary: Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is essential in guiding priority-setting in health systems, especially as resources are limited and healthcare demands continue to increase. Health systems in low—and middle-income countries strive to achieve universal health coverage and are willing to institutionalize HTA to improve decision-making and optimize outcomes. The challenges these countries experience in this journey are important lessons. Their experiences and progress will be shared and discussed.
WS04 - Topic Selection In Health Technology Assessment: How To Make It Transparent, Reproducible And Robust
Date & Time: Saturday, June 14 | 9.00AM to 12.30PM
Presenters: María José Faraldo Vallés, Leonor Varela-Lema, Yolanda Triñanes Pego, Janet Puñal-Rioboo, Celia Juarez Rojo
Summary: The use of systematic procedures that define methods, stages and information requirements for the identification and prioritization of health technologies improves objectivity in the selection for assessment, monitoring or disinvestment. This workshop will focus on understanding concepts related to the selection of topics in health technology assessment and the use of tools designed to support these processes, such as PriTec, a web-based tool that allows network prioritization.

BRAINDATES Networking Lounge: The Annual Meeting provides the perfect platform to learn new things and connect with new people. How do you spark meaningful conversation? It all starts with a Braindate!
Braindates are knowledge-sharing conversations that you book with others one-on-one or in small groups on-site in the Braindate Lounge. They’re the best way to brainstorm, solve challenges, share expertise or experiences, while connecting with new (brilliant!) people.
