Summary: Join
us for an interactive workshop on GRADE’s impact in Health Technology
Assessment (HTA). Over 25 years, GRADE has refined evidence certainty rating,
with recent advances on real-world data integration and AI. This session
includes brief presentations and hands-on activities to set decision
thresholds, create an HTA framework, and simulate a decision-making panel. Open
to all, from early career to policymakers— apply GRADE’s evolving methods in
evidence assessment and decision-making.

Summary: Patient
Experience Data (PED) is becoming a key element of evidence considered by HTA.
It is necessary to clarify suitable PED for HTA mandates and how PED could be
interpreted within value assessments. The Global PED Navigator is a framework
developed by an international multistakeholder consortium. Participants will
co-create an HTA-specific iteration of the PED Navigator, enhancing HTA
processes by integrating patient input while addressing methodological
transparency and data gaps.

Marchetti, Marisa Santos, Jani Mueller, Abhirup Dutta
Summary: Hospital-Based
HTA (HB-HTA) assesses health technologies within the specific context of
hospitals, requiring close collaboration with key internal and external
stakeholders. This workshop introduces HB-HTA, shares best practices from
various countries, and explores how HB-HTA can work effectively with managers
and HTA agencies. Strategies to foster collaborative initiatives and give
visibility to HB-HTA will also be discussed.

Summary: This
workshop introduces EuroScan's new toolkit 3.0, designed to guide stakeholders
from early idea development to regulatory and HTA processes, enhancing
value-based healthcare decision-making. Participants will engage with
structured methodologies and apply them to scenarios in pharmaceuticals,
medical devices, and public health. Aligned with HTAi and EuroScan’s Early
Awareness curriculum, this session empowers participants to drive informed,
impactful decisions within healthcare systems.

Silveira Silva, Fiona Pearce, Veronica Lopez Gousset, Manuel Donato, Catherine
Fischer, Adriana Robayo, Diego Gil Cardozo, Robyn Manuel, Zal Press
Summary: This
workshop, led by the HTAi Patient and Citizen Involvement Interest Group (PCIG)
begins with an introduction to key concepts, methods and approaches to patient
involvement, including examples of international and regional good practice and
tools. This is followed by the choice of three deep dive dialogues: regional
and international exchange; patient evidence generation; and equity and
fairness.
Date & Time: Sunday, June 15 | 9.00AM to 12.30PM
Presenters: Juan
Antonio Blasco Amaro, Li Ying Huang, Joëlle André-Vert, Rosa Vivanco, Jenny
Berg, Tara Schuller
Summary: Join
this interactive workshop to learn about what constitutes a practical and
implementable impact assessment and how demonstrating impact is an important
part of NextGen health technology assessment.
Facilitated by experts from the International Network of Agencies for
Health logy Assessment (INAHTA), this workshop will include a hands-on activity
and discussion to apply the INAHTA Impact Framework to case studies.
Date & Time: Sunday, June 15 | 1.30PM to 5.00PM

Summary: To keep pace with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence in healthcare, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is updating its methodologies and developing tools to capture both intended and unintended health, economic, social, and ethical implications. This workshop will explore AI regulations, HTA frameworks, assessment experiences, training initiatives, and how AI can enhance the assessment process.
Date & Time: Sunday, June 15 | 1.30PM to 5.00PM
Presenters: Melissa Pegg, Jani Mueller, Abhirup Dutta, Robyn Manuel, Natalie Hallas, Robert Malcolm
Summary: The
climate crisis is the largest global health threat of the 21st century.
Worldwide, healthcare contributes 4.4% of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
and 15 million tonnes of plastic, annually. Global demand for healthcare
requires embracing more sustainable innovation. Cross sectoral decision making
bodies are considering how to incorporate environmental sustainability (ES)
into Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Our workshop will explore
solution-focused methods and practicalities in considering ES within HTA.

Summary: This multi-stakeholder workshop addresses current motives, enablers, and barriers for participatory health technology assessment (HTA) in low resource health systems to strengthen evidence-informed decision-making striving for inclusiveness, equity, fairness and transparency. Using examples from the Latin American region, the participants will co-create and design potential implementation pathways for HTA processes that are appropriate for low- and middle-income countries.
Date & Time: Sunday, June 15 |1.30PM to 5.00PM

Ademi, Jedidiah Morton, Tamrat Abebe
Summary: Health
economic models are key for setting healthcare priorities, especially given the
limitations of randomised clinical trials. Cardiovascular disease is the
leading cause of death, but prevention is often delayed. The Monash
Health-Economics model leverage genetic epidemiology methods including
Mendelian Randomisation to assess costs, health, quality of life and identify
at-risk individuals early, improving access to preventive-care and saving
lives.

Summary: SUSTAIN-HTA
aims to promote developing and implementing needs-based innovative HTA methods
in HTAs in Europe. It will contribute to developing HTA expertise through an
education and training system that encourages the uptake of new methodologies
that address the needs of HTA bodies. This workshop will present progress on
work to date and explore similar activities in the South American region.

Summary: After
a brief introduction about different approaches to assess equity in HTA, we
will conduce an exercise based on three different requests of new health
technologies in a HTA unit. We will provide information on the context working
in groups were participants will choose scenarios (high income country, LMIC,
etc.) Participants will assess the impact on equity with different approaches,
discuss differences and similarities in process and results.
