Closing the Gaps: What’s keeping you up at night?

We are excited to introduce a new way for delegates to actively shape the #HTAi2025 program: Closing the Gaps—a participant-driven networking and discussion session designed to surface the questions, challenges, and ideas that matter most to you. Closing the Gaps is about creating space for the conversations that may not yet be on the program agenda, but are deeply relevant to our global HTA community.

Through this session, we’re asking:

  • What’s keeping you up at night?
  • What emerging challenges or big questions do you wish more people were talking about?
  • What real-time issues do you want to explore with your peers?

We’re giving delegates a platform to voice those ideas and connect in smaller, focused discussions during the final day of the conference.

How It Works

  • Submit a Topic: Share your idea via our simple survey tool. Include a short description and a few guiding questions.
  • Vote and Share: All delegates can view submitted topics, upvote their favorites, and express interest in joining a session.
  • Join a Braindate: The top 5–7 topics will become live, facilitator-led conversations during our Closing the Gaps networking session on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
  • Connect and Reflect: Each discussion group will include a facilitator to help guide the dialogue and capture key insights—ensuring the conversation lives beyond the meeting itself.

Why This Matters

This new session creates space for timely, participant-led dialogue on the issues that matter most right now. It empowers attendees to shape the content of the meeting—not just absorb it—and encourages deeper, more meaningful connections among peers. As we capture the insights and outcomes from these discussions, we can carry the ideas forward to inform future HTAi programs, initiatives, and collaborations.

Get Involved

We believe the most powerful conversations are the ones we create together. If you’re joining us in Buenos Aires, we want to hear from you!

Make the most of your #HTAi2025 experience: Host a Braindate

You are joining the Annual Meeting to meet great people and learn about new things. How do you spark meaningful conversation? It all starts with a Braindate.

How it works:

  • Log in to book your braindates as soon as the Braindate platform is launched in June.
  • Explore the Topic Market: participants (and you!) will post Braindate Topics in the Topic Market, related to discussions you’d like to have with others during the event. You can invite anyone to meet based on your topic! -> Start thinking now, about the Topics you would like to discuss!
  • Create topics: post Braindate Topics about discussions you’d like to have. This is your opportunity to share your knowledge, experiences, and expertise!
  • Book your braindates: send invitations to meet others to discuss their topics, and accept the invitations you receive. Once confirmed, your braindates will take place on-site in the Braindate Lounge.

Tips for hosting a meaningful Braindate

Braindates are not presentations, they are conversations that stem from a shared interest.Whether it’s a one-on-one or group Braindate, keep the following 5 tips in mind to lead a meaningful Braindate for everyone involved:

  • Make sure everyone introduces themselves and contributes to the discussion.
  • Ask the participant(s) what interested them about the topic.
  • Be transparent and honest about your own experience related to the topic: You don’t need to be an expert to lead a braindate.
  • Don’t forget that everyone has something interesting they can add to the conversation: Adopt a beginner’s mindset.
  • Don’t forget to share contact information. Many great relationships started with a simple conversation.
